Flex Card

Blue Advantage members receive a Flex Card (prepaid debit card) to use for certain expenses and to access rewards and incentives. Below is an overview to help you better understand and start using your benefits.

Flex Card Covered Allowances

You can use your Flex Card for:

  • Eyewear
  • Over-the-counter items

Note: When you earn Healthy Rewards, reward amounts are loaded onto your Flex Card and can be used toward eligible purchases. Visit the Healthy Rewards page to learn more!

Benefit amounts vary by plan selected. See plan details page for specific benefit information.

Activate Your Flex Card

Your Flex Card is mailed directly to you prior to the effective date of your enrollment in a plain white envelope for security purposes. Be on the lookout for this in the mail so you do not accidently throw it away.

You will keep the same Flex Card for the duration of your enrollment with Blue Advantage. A replacement card will be mailed to you shortly before your current card expires.

New Flex Cards must be activated before they can be used.

 

You can activate your card by phone or online.

By Phone:

When you receive your card, call 1-833-952-2772 (TTY 711) to activate it just like you would a credit or debit card. Phone lines are open Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

You'll be asked for your card number and the card expiration date.

 

Online:
  • Go to www.lablue.com/blueadvantage
  • Click Member at the top right, then Member Login
  • Once you've logged into your member portal, select Access Your Flex Card

You can also download the myTotal Benefits app from the App Store® or Google Play® to manage your Flex Card account. Use the same login information as your Blue Advantage member portal. If you don't have an account, you can sign up through the app.

Find Approved Retailers

Flex Cards give you access to plan allowances you can use toward approved everyday items. However, purchases are limited to participating retailers and plan‑approved items.

Flex Cards put money in your pocket, but they are subject to whether retailers accept the card or not. Always keep in mind that the Flex Card can only be used at participating retailers and for approved items. Not all pharmacies in the Blue Advantage network participate in the Flex Card network.

 

Finding Participating Retailers:

To find a participating retailer, sign in to your Flex Card portal and search by retailer name or ZIP code.

Purchase Over-the-Counter Items

You have the flexibility of ordering online, by mail, by phone or by purchasing at an approved retail store. Items listed in a catalog may differ from those approved for in‑store purchase.

 

Checking Item Eligibility:

It’s important to note that items in the catalog may not be the same as approved retail items.

Not sure if an item is eligible? Just use the barcode scanner in the myTotal Benefits app to check.

 

The OTC catalog includes eligible items and all details you need to place an order. It’s important to note that items in the catalog may not be the same as approved retail items. You can track the status of your order on your Flex Card portal, but please allow up to four business days for shipments. It may take up to four weeks to process an order sent by mail.

How to File for Reimbursement When You Didn't Use Your Flex Card

If you didn’t use your card for an eligible item, you can file for reimbursement. You can find the form by logging into your member portal and selecting Access Your Flex Card. The form is available by clicking the Reimbursement & Incentive Allowance button.

  • Fill out the form and send in the receipt within 45 days of purchase
  • Reimbursement will be in the form of a check
If you spend all your OTC allowance before your reimbursement is approved, we will call you.

Dual Plus Healthy Foods Catalog

If you are a Dual Plus member, you may be eligible to receive a monthly allowance for Healthy Foods and Utilities*. You can view you're the Healthy Foods catalog here to find eligible items.
